Chronicles of Khaldun: Bread and Circuses
The Vistani are a loosely-related group of tribes throughout the world and beyond. United by a blooding ritual that binds new members into the family, Vistani can be of any race, although many of them are human. They are wanderers and vagabonds, tale-tellers and sorcerers. They have a rich cultural heritage stretching back across the aeons — and possibly worlds, if the tales are true. (Persistent rumor says they are potent wayfarers and planewalkers, and that they originally came from another world, proliferating through planar gates.) They are primarily known to the citizenry as exotic travelers, usually willing to tell fortunes and gamble. (They have a darker reputation as thieves and hexers among some.) They consider themselves freer than anyone else, as they answer to no entity but the call of the open road.
Further information can be found on the Vistani at Wikipedia. The Vistani are similar to Earth Romani, although they are more like how the Romani are portrayed in popular culture. (They originated as stock Gothic horror gypsies in Ravenloft, after all.)
